Explanation :- RBI lifted its ban on Bandhan Bank. The Reserve Bank of India – RBI has removed its ban on Bandhan Bank after taking notes of  the efforts made by Bandhan Bank to comply with the licensing conditions on 25th February 2020. Now, Bandhan Bank can henceforth expand its branch network.In the month of September 2018, Reserve Bank of India had banned Bandhan Bank from expanding its network. Bandhan bank was banned  as the Bank failed to reduce the promoters’ stake to 40% from close to 82 % within the given 3 year time period of commencing the bank operations. Bandhan Bank has not complied with the licensing condition on dilution . But considering the efforts taken by the Bandhan bank, the ban was lifted by the Reserve Bank of India. The bank ensured at least 25% of the total number of banking outlets which got opened during a financial year. These banking outlets  are opened in unbanked rural centers.As of now, the bank has 4,288 banking outlets which includes its branches. Bandhan Bank shares closed at Rs.403.85 on Bombay Stock Exchange, down 1.15% from the previous stock close.

Explanation :- Cabinet approved the 2020 Surrogacy Regulation Bill on 26th February 2020. The Bill will allow widows and divorced women to be surrogate mothers. The Bill has included all the recommendations as made by the Rajya Sabha Selected Committee. The amended Surrogacy Regulation Bill is the reformed version of the draft legislation which was been approved by Lok Sabha in August 2019. The 2020 Surrogacy Regulation  Bill basically aims to ensure the effective regulation of the surrogacy service. It actually bans the commercial surrogacy and allow or may say that it promotes altruistic surrogacy.As per the 2020 Surrogacy Regulation Bill, National Surrogacy Board at the state level and central Surrogacy Board and the appropriate authorities in states and Union Territories – UT respectively in the country will be established to regulate the surrogacy. The commercial surrogacy which  includes sale and purchase of human embryo and gametes and ethical surrogacy to Indian married couples will therefore be prohibited according to the bill as introduced on 26th February 2020.The Bill stated that only Indian couples where both partners belong to Indian origins could be able to opt for surrogacy in India. The Union  Cabinet had decided that the insurance cover of the surrogate mother which was proposed for 16 months earlier should be increased to 36 months.The 2020 Surrogacy Regulation Bill has therefore proposed that the surrogate mother should be a “willing” woman, an altruistic surrogacy is promoted. Earlier this was named and followed as “close relative.” The Bill however has now recommended that not only close relatives but any woman irrespective of her current married status i.e whether she is a widow or divorcee whoever is “willing” should be allowed to act as a surrogate mother.
