TRB TN Recruitment 2019 –

Teacher Recruitment Board (TRB), Tamilnadu has invited applications for recruitment of vacant posts of Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TN TET). Those candidates who are interested in vacancy details and who meet all the eligibility criteria, they can apply online by reading the notification. Candidates who have successfully completed the form will have to go through a pen paper-based examination. The date of the examination will also be announced soon.

Register with your personal information, such as name, birth date, etc.

Now log in using this registration number.

Fill in the form, upload your photo and pay.

After making the payment, also print it.

Exam Pattern –



  • No. of Questions  – 150 Multiple Choice Questions

  • Duration of Exam  – 3 hours

  • Mode of Exam  – Offline i.e. OMR sheet based examination.

  • Marking Scheme  – Each right answer will be awarded one mark.

TN TET Syllabus for Paper I –

  • Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on Educational Psychology of Teaching and Learning, relevant to the age group of 6 – 11 years.

  • Language I will focus on the proficiencies related to the Medium of Instruction. The candidate has to choose any one of the languages (Tamil/Telugu/Malayalam/ Kannada/Urdu). For recruitment process candidates shall be eligible for the vacancies in the concerned medium only

  • Language II English will focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.

  • Mathematics and Environmental Studies will focus on the concepts, problem-solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of these subjects.

  • The questions in the TET Paper I will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus of the State for Classes I – V but their difficulty level, as well as linkages, will be up to the Secondary Stage.

TN TET Syllabus for Paper II –

  • Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on Educational Psychology of Teaching and Learning, relevant to the age group of 11- 14 Years.

  • Language-I will focus on the proficiencies related to the medium of instruction. The candidate has to choose any one of the languages (Tamil/Telugu/Malayalam/Kannada/ Urdu). For recruitment process, candidate shall be considered for the vacancies in the concerned medium only.

  • Language II – English will focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.

  • Mathematics and Science / Social Science will focus on the concepts. Problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of these subjects.

  • The questions in the test Paper-II will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus of the State for Classes VI-VIII but their difficulty level, as well as linkages, will be up to the Senior Secondary (Higher Secondary ) Stage.
